Don’t get us wrong – we’re not talking about any regular smoothie. These weight loss smoothies need specific fruits and vegetables in order to work, and we’ve got five recipes to share how to make your very own super smoothies to trim down your waistline!

Pumpkin Smoothie

Pumpkin takes credit for being a great source of beta-carotene. This is an antioxidant that helps in anti-aging. When you cook a cup of pumpkin, you get around 3 grams of fiber and only 49 calories. This is a great amount that will help you maintain or lessen your weight. Puree the 1 cup that you have and we will make our pumpkin smoothie. You will also need a cup of vanilla almond milk that is unsweetened, half a banana, and some cinnamon. Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend away. When the consistency is smooth enough, add some honey, and enjoy the drink.

Green Smoothie

Super smoothies are great when taken upon waking up. This will kick start your metabolism, fueling your body for the rest of the day ahead. This green smoothie is one drink that will do just that. One glass of this when you get out of bed will enrich you with omega-3 fatty acids and lots and lots of vitamins and minerals. To make this shake, blend together a scoop of protein powder, a cup of spinach (make sure it’s fresh), a cup of almond milk or cashew milk, whichever you prefer as long as they’re unsweetened, and a tablespoon of ground flaxseed. This healthy drink will perk you up to an energized degree!

Berry Smoothie

Berries are not only photogenic and aesthetically pleasing but they are also packed with vitamins and minerals that will aid in weight loss. Containing a lot of protein and fiber, consuming this tall glass of berry smoothie will diminish your appetite, making you feel full for hours. We’ve added in some chia seeds too as these will lessen the production of stress hormones. To make the smoothie, swipe your credit card on these groceries: 1 cup of Greek yogurt (plain and unsweetened), 1 cup of berries (frozen blueberries of strawberries, or a mix of both!), 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. Blend all these together, with ice if you want it cold, and enjoy them when you’re hungry!

Banana Smoothie

The staple of every gym-goer, the banana is packed with B6, vitamin C, fiber, and potassium. Our favorite fruit combined with oats makes a power combo. Both of them will not only make you feel full for hours, but they will also increase your metabolism and keep the degree of your blood sugar level on point. Get half a cup of oats, a banana, a tablespoon of peanut butter, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, and a cup of unsweetened almond milk. Put all of these in a blender and add a bit of honey to taste. Blend them all smooth and have your drink.

Carrot Smoothie

This yummy orange vegetable takes credit for containing lots of nutrients that are good for you, especially when you’re trying to lose weight. Carrots, mixed with milk and Greek yogurt will provide calcium and protein – stuff you need to work out. The chia seeds will give you enough fiber for digestion as well. Blend together a cup of chopped carrots, a cup of mango, a cup of pineapple, a cup of strawberries, a quarter of a cup of plain nonfat Greek yogurt, half a cup of unsweetened soy milk, and a tablespoon of chia seeds.
